Update January 6, 2011:
You should see quite a bit of change to this site over the next year as I continue to learn and grow in the area of web design. Things have been coming along quite well with this venture and am I really looking forward to what the new year will bring, there is still much for me to learn in this area.
I will be keeping to my commitment I have set and will be writing a new post every few days to keep you updated with what I’m doing.Writing is still I struggle for me but I will continue to work on it this year. I really do hope it gets easier. I enjoy doing web design very much, this writing is the only part that I tend to put off but unfortunately my site won’t fill itself so I must put forth the effort. Luckily for now this is the only site I really have to do much writing for. The Crusaders Podcast will continue weekly, we may soon be joined by a third party so that should be fun.
Update December 18, 2010:
Happy Holidays, only a week left until Christmas. This month has gone by quickly. I have been staying busy learning web design and working with WordPress. John has been keeping me occupied with plenty of work to do. On my downtime you will find me playing World of Warcraft.
I’ve added a new section for the Crusaders Podcast that I am now participating in. You may find them fun so have a listen. I have been continuing to write a new post every two or three days for What I’m Doing, for those of you that would like to keep up with what I’m learning and working on, I’m still struggling with the writing a bit but I’m getting it done.
Trying to come up with what to write here on the front page is still quite frustrating, the home page needs more content on it and that entails me having to write it. So I guess I will just babble on. I’ve been sitting here staring at my computer screen for awhile now trying to decide what to put here and the words just aren’t coming to me. It would be nice if just all of sudden words would appear, but unfortunately that is not going to happen so I need to just start typing and what comes out is what I’ll go with. I’m getting tired of writing and deleting so I’m just going to write about nothing as the case may seem but it will fill the void here.
Update December 5, 2010:
First, I would like to say thank you to those of you that are visiting my site. As you may of noticed I’ve changed the look of the site just a bit and have been adding to it. The sidebars have gotten longer as I learn about new plugins and widgets to add to the site. Learning about and using WordPress is definitely keeping me busy. Each day brings about something new for me to explore.
The biggest challenge for me that I am finding is trying to decide what to write and what content to add. It has been quite a while since I have set down and tried to write about something. I think it would be so much easier if I could just talk, I’ve never had much of a problem coming up with something to say. I’ve got a lot of thoughts, but trying to turn those thoughts into written words can sometimes be a struggle, especially when you want them to make sense and stay on topic.
For those of us that play World of Warcraft this is a pretty exciting week with the the release of Cataclysm. I am really looking forward to the new features that Cataclysm will bring to the game. I already have the game installed on my computer and am just waiting for it to go live on the 7th.

So what is LauraMathes.com going to be about. To tell you the truth, I’m not really all that sure yet what this site will grow into. I’m new to all of this and just trying to figure out what to write and what to fill the site with is going to be quite a challenge to me.
So I guess I’ll tell you a little bit about what I intend to start with. Basically in the beginning this site will be a place for me to share some photos, videos and whatever else I get the urge to post with my family and friends. A blog, I guess it will be. There will most likely be a page on World of Warcraft since its one of my favorite things to do. So as I ramble on, thinking of stuff to write.
Why the website? I’ve always wanted to learn how to set up sites, design the themes, decide the look. Well, with the help of a good friend I’ve been given that opportunity. I’ve been learning to use WordPress, which is the platform for building a website. How to add plugins, manage widgits, add links, and so much more. And as I continue to learn you’ll be able to see my progress as I add to the site. I really am having a lot of fun learning all of this and who knows where the possibilities may end up leading. This site is going to become quite the project for me, which is something I’ve needed for awhile now.
This really is taking me while to write, I’ve never been one much for writing but John assures me I will get the hang of it if I practice. And trying to think of what to write to fill some space. I really hope it does get easier. Also want to add thanks to spell checker, without it I would be lost. I plan on updating the blog weekly, who knows with what. You can keep up to date on what I am learning and the changes I make to the site on What I’m Doing. I will be adding new photos and videos as I get them onto My Galleries. With my granddaughters 1st birthday and Christmas coming up there should be plenty of them for me to post.
